This is how it works: Place a pipe in your house (or wherever you store all of your belongings that you would always like to be able to access quickly). Pack a second tube in your pocket and take it with you wherever you go. If you want to go home from your current position, just set up the tube and hop in. When you are back, you put the warp tube back in and off you go.
All you have to do is make sure that you only set up these two warp pipes. As soon as there are more than two, it will be randomly chosen where you come out on the other end.
In any case, there has not yet been a more elaborate system that would enable multiple points to be targeted. Many fans want exactly that, but are massively happy about the relief that this tip brings.
